I made this out of beads last year, but it didn’t really click at the time, so I chose to leave it until it felt right. Well, after I redesigned the dress sleeves, suddenly the flower wreath works! I think I’ll finish it now as her alternate crown. Or at least do a photo shoot in it next week.
I also just finished the dress 2 days ago, so this doll Princess Tuvstarr is almost done. You can see a part of the new sleeve design. I went with a pomegranate style, instead of the original Butterfly, and it was definitely the right decision, though it cost me extra 80 hours of work. I try to not get attached to my mistakes and not feel paralyzed by the sunken cost fallacy. If something doesn’t feel right, I correct course and eat the cost, even if it means dismantling the whole thing and starting over. Destruction is a form of creation, and I try to be brave in the face of it, tho it’s very hard sometimes and it makes me want to cry.
Art is a jigsaw puzzle, change one element and everything either breaks or suddenly falls into place.
Next week I’m starting the last stage of her photo shoot. We’re going back to the forest and closing with a studio session. Then this doll will become available to purchase. Stay tuned!
