I’m really crazy for these new, hand-textured canvas prints I made: ‘Lotus Garden’ and ‘Lotus Black’. They turned out so rich and vibrant! Both are now available to order at my shop (link), in a limited edition of 100 pieces each. ‘Lotus Black’ is $400 USD and ‘Lotus Garden’ is $450 USD.
My texture layering technique is evolving into something much more complex and expressive than I ever intended. Each one of these prints contains hundreds of translucent texturing brush strokes! They are basically paintings.
I was only planning to offer just one of these Lotuses for sale, but couldn’t decide which one I preferred, so I painted both as a test... and I still couldn’t decide. In fact, the decision became harder, because I loved them both! So now they are both available.
Production time for print orders is 6-8 weeks. Each print is custom-made by me for every individual order. That’s why it takes that long.
My process: I apply 10-20 thin, clear layers of glossy acrylic texture and varnish onto raw, printed canvas over the course of several days. Each layer is allowed to completely dry and settle before the next layer is applied. Over time, the texture builds up into a raised surface, like a landscape. My texturing medium is UV protective, to always keep the prints vibrant and fresh.
